Thiruvananthapuram: Campus Front of India staged DDE office marches today in various districts of Kerala in protest against government’s stand on the issues related to the filed of education. Protesters demanded the state government to rein in self financing colleges, streamlining book distribution and desist from the attempts to sell out education sector to the corporate interests.
Inaugurating the march at Malappuram Campus Front national general secretary C A Rauf urged the government to meet a permanent solution for the problem regarding self financing medical and engineering courses.
‘After all discussions with managements of self financing colleges, the state government used to take decisions which was favorable for managements and against students’, alleged Ajmal Ismail, state president of Campus Front, who led the march to Thiruvananthapuram DDE office.
Also marches were held in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikkode, Kannur and Kasarkode.
