Kollam: Social Democratic Party of India Kollam: Social Democratic Party of India will fight for the release of Abdunnasir Mahdani and will stand by all Mahdanis who are being subjected to injustice in the country, said E Aboobacker, national president of SDPI. He was inaugurating a public conference organised by the party at Kollam in Kerala demanding the early release of Abdunnasir Mahdani.There is lot of Mahdanis in various prisons across the country. Most of them are undertrials. And the authorities are trying to picture the Muslims in India who comes more than 20 crores as criminals in one way or other.
When we came forward for Mahdani in 1998 demanding his release from Coimbatore prison, some people said militants had come out to save another militant. They might have forgotten it, but we will not. At the same time we have no ill feeling towards them now. We amassed Rs. 34 lakhs of rupees to help Mahdany and spent 37 lakhs to facilitate his release from jail who was falsely implicated in Coimbatore blast case, he added.
